A plain-language summary of how your data is handled.

The short version

Guess the Baller does not sell your personal data or use advertising trackers. Account features require Supabase, and anonymous aggregate traffic measurement is provided by Vercel.

Privacy-friendly analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve the game. It may process the page or route visited, referrer, timestamp, approximate location, browser, operating system, and device type. Vercel Analytics does not use third-party cookies or retain a persistent visitor identity. Profile usernames and all URL query parameters are removed before analytics events are sent.

Accounts and public profiles

If you create an account, Supabase processes your email address, authentication credentials, session information, username, optional display name and profile photo. Passwords are handled by Supabase and are not available to the app operator. Your username, display name, profile photo and verified game statistics are public; your email address is not.

Gameplay and device storage

The app stores game progress, statistics and preferences in your browser’s local storage so play can continue on the same device. A functional recent-player cookie helps avoid immediate repeats. Signed-in competitive results and daily progress may also be stored in Supabase to provide leaderboards, streaks and verified statistics.

Purpose, retention and your choices

We process account data to provide the service you request and use limited aggregate analytics for the legitimate interest of improving reliability and gameplay. Local browser data remains until you clear it. Account and game data is kept while your account is active or as reasonably needed for security and legal obligations. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing by contacting the app operator.

Service providers and transfers

Supabase provides authentication and database services. Vercel provides hosting and anonymous web analytics. These providers may process data outside your country using their contractual and legal transfer safeguards. Their own documentation contains more detail.

Player data and image sources

Player career data is sourced from Wikidata. Player photographs are retrieved through the Wikipedia REST API and may be hosted by Wikimedia Commons. Photographs may have individual license and attribution requirements determined by their original source.
